Safety
Safety guidelines
Our team reviews every profile, but your own care matters just as much. Follow these simple steps whenever you speak with, or meet, a new family.
Last updated 6 October 2026
Protect your information
- Keep your profile private, or limit who can see your photos, until you feel comfortable.
- Do not share your home address, workplace, bank details or identity documents with a family you have only just met.
- Never share your password or a one-time code, not even with someone who says they are from our team.
Getting to know a family
- Involve your parents or a trusted relative from the start. Families who are serious about marriage will welcome this.
- Speak on the phone or by video call before you meet, and check that the person matches their profile and photos.
- Take your time. Do not let anyone rush you into a decision.
- Ask our team to make the first approach if you would rather not call yourself.
Meeting in person
- Meet in a public place, or at a family home with elders present.
- Take a family member with you, and tell someone else where you are going and when you will be back.
- Arrange your own travel to and from the meeting.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, leave.
Warning signs
Be careful if someone:
- asks for money, a loan or gifts for any reason, including an emergency, travel, customs fees or a visa;
- avoids phone or video calls, or will not let you speak with their family;
- gives details that change, about their work, education, marital status or family;
- presses for marriage or a commitment very quickly;
- uses photos that look professional, or that you have seen elsewhere;
- asks you to move the conversation to a private or unusual app straight away.
Our team will never ask you for money except to collect payment for a plan you have chosen.
Before you commit
Verification on a profile shows what our team has checked, but it is not a substitute for your own enquiries. Before agreeing to a marriage, confirm the family’s background, the candidate’s marital status, education and work through people you trust.
Report a concern
If a profile looks fake, or a member behaves inappropriately or asks you for money, contact our team and give the profile code shown on the profile. We look into every report in confidence and will remove profiles that break our terms of use.
If you are in danger or have been the victim of a crime, contact the police first by calling 112. You can report online fraud to the national cyber crime helpline on 1930, or at cybercrime.gov.in.
