Privacy policy

A matrimonial profile holds some of your family’s most personal information. This policy explains what we collect, who can see it, and the choices you have.

Last updated 7 October 2026

Information we collect

  • Account details: name, email address, password (stored only in encrypted form) and the security settings you choose.
  • Profile details: what you enter about the candidate and family, such as age, religious practice, community, education, profession, family background, partner preferences and photos.
  • Contact details: the phone number, WhatsApp number and email you add to a profile.
  • Activity: interests sent and received, shortlists, introduction requests and the contact details you have viewed.
  • Membership: the plan you chose, the amount, how you paid and the payment reference. We do not collect card details.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, kept in security logs.

How we use it

  • To show your profile to suitable families and suggest matches.
  • To review profiles and verify the details you ask us to check.
  • To arrange introductions when you or another family ask for one.
  • To activate memberships and keep payment records.
  • To send emails about your account, interests and membership.
  • To keep the website secure and to prevent fraud and misuse.

Who can see your profile

You choose your profile’s visibility in your privacy settings:

  • Public: visitors can see a summary, and search engines may list it. Only the first name and the initial of the last name are shown.
  • Members only: only signed-in members can see it.
  • Private: only families whose interest you have accepted can see it.

Photos have their own setting: everyone, members only, or only after you accept an interest. Uploaded photos have their location data removed.

Your phone number and email

Contact details are never shown publicly or to visitors. Approved members with a paid plan can view them, and every view is recorded. Some plans include contact details once you accept that family’s interest. If you want to share them only with families whose interest you have accepted, set your profile to private.

Enquiries and messages to our team

When you use our contact form, we use your name, phone number, email and message only to reply to you and to help with your enquiry. We do not add you to marketing lists.

When we share information

We never sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • with other members, as allowed by your privacy settings;
  • with another family during an introduction you have agreed to;
  • with service providers who host the website and send our emails, and only for those purposes;
  • when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a member.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, protect forms from misuse and remember your preferences. The website will not work without them. We do not use advertising cookies.

How long we keep information

We keep your information for as long as your account is open.

When you delete your profile, it is hidden from everyone at once and erased 30 days later, with its photos, preferences, interests and shortlist. Until then you can restore it. Your account stays.

When you delete your account, your account and profile are erased straight away, together with your photos, contact details, notifications and payment screenshots.

We keep only what we must:

  • Records of paid memberships (plan, amount, date, payment reference, and the name, mobile number and profile code at the time), as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
  • Our activity log of actions on accounts, kept for security and removed automatically after one year.
  • Messages you sent our team, so we can show how we handled them.

You can ask us to delete your profile or account, even without signing in, on our account deletion page.

Your choices and rights

You can view and correct your profile at any time, change who can see it, or pause it. You can delete your profile or your whole account from your account settings, or ask us to on our account deletion page.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can also ask us for a summary of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, or withdraw your consent. To do so, contact our team.

Keeping information secure

Passwords are encrypted, the website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and only authorised team members can see profile and payment records. You can protect your account further with two-factor authentication or a passkey.

Questions and complaints

For any question or complaint about your privacy, contact our team, or write to our grievance officer. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
